Voice Mail (VM) and Dialing Instructions Index

- You must first dial a 6 followed
by 1 and the number to place a long distance call.
- To call on campus, you only have
to use the 4-digit extension.
- To call within Culver, you must
dial 6, 842 and the 4-digit extension.
- You may place a collect call or
directory assistance calls from your calling card.
- Collect calls back to Culver
are blocked.

Setting Up Your Voice Mailbox From Your Own Phone
- Dial 7070 – You will hear “Hello and thank you for calling. As a new voice mailbox owner please take a moment to personalize your new mailbox…..”
- You will be asked to record your name, spell your name and if you want to be listed in the company directory.
- You will be asked to Record your greeting and enter in a new security code.
- At the end of setup be sure to press 1 if you are satisfied with your setup options. If you do not press 1 at the very end, you will need to go through this setup the next time you log into your mailbox.
- You must dial 7070 every time you want to access your voicemail box. You can do this at any phone on campus.
- Please discard any unwanted voice mail messages. Your saved messages will automatically delete after 30 days and unsaved old messages will delete after 14 days.
- To access your voice mail off campus, but in Culver, you can call 842-7070.

Setting Up Your Mailbox If You Share A Phone
- Dial 7070
- If necessary, Press # to hear the main Culver Greeting
- Press 9 and dial your 4 digit mailbox number.
- You will hear “Hello and thank you for calling. As a new voice mailbox owner please take a moment to personalize your new mailbox…..”

- Lift Handset or press Speaker
- Press Message or dial 7070
- Enter your security code
- If you have new messages you will hear “You have ___ new messages. Press (4) to play your messages.”
- You will be prompted to “Archive (save) or Delete” the message after you have listened to it.
- Hang up to exit your mailbox.
- Return to top menu
Checking VM If You Are Calling From Another Phone (Students will use this option)
- Lift Handset or press Speaker
- Press Message or dial 7070
- Press # to back out to the main greeting
- Dial 9 + your extension number
- Enter your security code
- If you have new messages you will hear “You have ___ new messages. Press (4) to play your messages.”
- You will be prompted to “Archive (save) or Delete” the message after you have listened to it.
- Hang up to exit your mailbox.

Checking VM If You Are Calling In From A Phone That Is Off Campus
- Dial 842-7070
- When You Hear the Greeting Begin, Dial 9 + Your Mailbox Number
- Enter your security code
- If you have new messages you will hear “You have ___ new messages. Press (4) to play your messages.”
- You will be prompted to “Archive (save) or Delete” the message after you have listened to it.
- Hang up to exit your mailbox.
- Follow the voice prompts
Your system parameters are: 90 seconds to record your mailbox greeting, 15
messages stored (or 5 for students) in your
mailbox at one time, 90 seconds message limit per caller, 5
invalid log-ins in a 24 hour period (you will be locked
out of your mailbox, and will have to have it reset).
Callers will be transferred
into your voicemail if your phone is not
answered after 4 rings, your phone is busy, or if you
have manually call forwarded your phone to 7070 with the
call forward feature.

Changing Your Personal Greeting
- Log into your voicemail
- Dial 7 for setup options
- Dial 4 for Greetings
- Dial 6 to edit standard, 7 to edit alternate greeting, or 5 to switch greetings
- It will play the current greeting
- Follow prompts to re-record it

To Leave A Message For Another Caller From Your Phone
- Dial 7070
- Press “#”
- Dial the mailbox number of the person you want to leave a message for.
- Wait for the beep and
leave your message or
- Dial the extension of the
person you want to leave a message for. If there is
no answer after (3) rings you will get their
greeting.
- Wait for the beep and
leave your message.
- (Press 3* to use the Dial by
Name feature if you do not know the extension of the
person you are calling.)
